Public Preview Links documentation
Create a link to a draft, pending, scheduled or private post that anyone can open without logging in. Links expire, and you can revoke them.
Overview
Getting a client to approve a draft usually means creating them an account, sending screenshots or publishing early. All of them slow the job down.
Plan: Pro. Requires an active WP Extended Pro licence.
Setup
- Go to WP Extended in your WordPress admin and find Public Preview Links under Content Management.
- Switch Public Preview Links on.
- Open its settings, adjust the options below and save.
Settings
| Setting | What it does | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Post Types | Enable public preview links for the selected post types. | Pro |
| Default Expiry (hours) | How long a newly generated preview link stays valid. Set to 0 to never expire. | Pro |
Questions and troubleshooting
Is Public Preview Links free?
No. It is part of WP Extended Pro.
Can search engines find preview links?
Preview links use a token in the URL and aren’t linked from your site, so they are only seen by people you send them to.
It isn’t working as expected
Check the module is switched on and its settings are saved. If another plugin does the same job, deactivate one of them. Then clear any page cache and test again. Still stuck? Pro customers can contact support; free users can post on the WordPress.org forum.
