Setup

  1. Go to WP Extended in your WordPress admin and find Hide WP version under Security & Privacy.
  2. Switch Hide WP version on.
  3. There is nothing to configure. The module works as soon as it is on.

Questions and troubleshooting

Is Hide WP version free?

Yes. It is in the free plugin, with no settings to configure.

Does this make my site secure?

On its own, no. Keeping WordPress updated matters far more. This is one small part of a hardening checklist with Limit Login Attempts and Disable XML-RPC.

It isn’t working as expected
