Duplicate Menu documentation
Copy a navigation menu, with every item and its nesting, under a new name. Edit the copy safely while the original stays live.
Overview
WordPress can’t copy a menu. Rebuilding a large menu by hand to test changes, or to make a variation for another location, takes ages.
Plan: Free. Everything on this page is in the free plugin.
Setup
- Turn on Duplicate Menu under Content Management.
- Choose the menu to copy.
- Enter a name for the new menu and duplicate it.
Settings

Questions and troubleshooting
Is Duplicate Menu free?
Yes. It is in the free plugin.
What other menu tools are there?
Menu Visibility shows menu items to logged-in or logged-out visitors, and Menu Editor tidies the admin sidebar. See all three WordPress menu tools.
It isn’t working as expected
Check the module is switched on and its settings are saved. If another plugin does the same job, deactivate one of them. Then clear any page cache and test again. Still stuck? Pro customers can contact support; free users can post on the WordPress.org forum.
Developers
Duplicate Menu has 1 hook. See the Duplicate Menu developer reference.
