Disable Blog documentation
Turn WordPress into a pages-only site. Posts, their categories and tags, post comments and feeds are removed from the admin and the front end.
Overview
Plenty of sites never publish a single post, but the Posts menu, empty category archives and feeds are still there, confusing clients and creating thin pages for search engines.
Plan: Pro. Requires an active WP Extended Pro licence.
Setup
- Go to WP Extended in your WordPress admin and find Disable Blog under Performance & Control.
- Switch Disable Blog on.
- There is nothing to configure. The module works as soon as it is on.
Questions and troubleshooting
Is Disable Blog free?
No. It is part of WP Extended Pro.
Do I need a static homepage?
Yes. Set a static page as your homepage in Settings → Reading first. The module reminds you if one isn’t set.
It isn’t working as expected
Check the module is switched on and its settings are saved. If another plugin does the same job, deactivate one of them. Then clear any page cache and test again. Still stuck? Pro customers can contact support; free users can post on the WordPress.org forum.
