Debug Mode documentation
Switch WP_DEBUG on when you need to see errors, and off again when you’re done, from the admin. You don’t need FTP or wp-config.php edits.
Overview
Turning on debugging means opening wp-config.php on the server, changing a constant and remembering to change it back. On managed hosting, getting to that file can take longer than the fix.
Plan: Pro. Requires an active WP Extended Pro licence.
Setup
- Go to WP Extended in your WordPress admin and find Debug Mode under Developer Tools.
- Switch Debug Mode on.
- There is nothing to configure. The module works as soon as it is on.
Questions and troubleshooting
Is Debug Mode free?
No. It is part of WP Extended Pro.
Should I leave it on in production?
No. Debug output can reveal file paths and other details. Switch it off when you’re finished.
Does it work on multisite?
Yes, but only a Super Admin can switch it on or off, because it edits wp-config.php for the whole network.
It isn’t working as expected
Check the module is switched on and its settings are saved. If another plugin does the same job, deactivate one of them. Then clear any page cache and test again. Still stuck? Pro customers can contact support; free users can post on the WordPress.org forum.
