About WP Extended

A cleaner home for the small WordPress jobs

WP Extended is built by a small team who use WordPress every day. Since 2022 we’ve been putting the jobs that usually need their own plugin into one modular toolkit.

Our story

From one founder’s fix for plugin clutter to a team building for WordPress full time.

  1. 2022 The beginning

    Dan founds WP Extended

Tired of installing the same handful of single-purpose plugins on every site, Dan built one modular plugin to replace them. Version 1.0.0 went live on WordPress.org in September 2022.

  2. Early days Building the toolkit

    Sumit joins development

Sumit, a WordPress expert and core contributor, worked on the plugin’s development as it grew from a handful of modules into a full toolkit.

  3. 2024 A bigger team

    Taylor joins as CTO

Taylor took on the CTO role and the technical direction of the product. Dan stayed on as founder and moved into the CEO position.

  4. 2026 Today

    51 modules and 53 releases

A modular toolkit used by site owners, freelancers and agencies, with releases shipping through the year.

How we work

  • Modular

Each site keeps only the controls it needs. Modules you leave off don’t load.

  • Clear

One settings screen, plain labels, and nothing that gets in the way.

  • Practical

Tools for the jobs WordPress sites always need, not features for their own sake.

  • Honest

Free means free. Every page says plainly what needs Pro.

  • ★★★★★
“Turn on what you need, leave the rest off. Duplicate posts, SMTP, rollback, custom admin URL, code snippets… stuff I used to install four or five separate plugins for. Now it’s just one with one update to run and one UI to deal with.”
  • ★★★★★
“Anyone who has been dealing with WordPress for a long time knows how risky it is to have too many plugins from different developers – one unfortunate update, and we have a fatal error…”
  • ★★★★★
“This plugin helps me manage over 15 websites and at every new installation it saves me so much time that it’s unbelievable how these functionalities are not built-in in wordpress.”
  • ★★★★★
“Previously I had to install multiple plugins for each feature of this plugin. Features I love: Export Users, Duplicate Pages & Posts, Insert Headers & Footers Snippets, Debug Mode, SVG Upload.”
  • ★★★★★
“This does things that I would normally have to deal with via code snippets or additional plugins. This plugin has become a part of my “new site base stack” – only possible because of the modularity and subsequent small footprint.”
  • ★★★★★
“I have removed 5 plugins from every site i work on now. Development time for new features is fast and the developer is always listening to their users!”
